Project continues and expands project 5970011, to increase the access of Central American, South American, and Spanish-speaking Caribbean university and technical students, libraries, and professionals, to Spanish translations of textbooks originally written in the United States.

Abstract
In addition, textbooks are provided for Nicaraguan primary and secondary school students; TA is provided to distribution centers and university bookstores involved in the project; and pamphlets and booklets are provided to public and private institutions throughout the region. The project, which is intended to combat communist bloc influence in the region and reduce pirating of U.S. materials, continues existing operations in Central America and expands operations into the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, and possibly Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, and Mexico.
