Grant is provided under the Innovative Scientific Research Project (9365544) to the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture"s Agricultural Research Organization to study the use of pheromone traps for monitoring populations of Heliothis anmigera in cotton fields of Israel and Thailand, and the possible use of the pheromone for suppressing the pest population.
1986

Abstract
Although the pheromone has already been used to delineate areas of infestation in Israel, Cyprus, and the Soviet Union, trap catch does not always reflect the size of the local population due to the lack of information concerning density, dispersal, and sexual behavior of the moths. The grantee will obtain this information by observing night trapping and mating behavior in the field, as well as behavior in wind tunnels in the laboratory. (Author abstract)
