Rural small scale enterprises in Zambia : results of a 1985 country-wide survey

This paper reports on the results of a nationwide survey of small-scale non-farm enterprises (SSEs) conducted in Zambia during 1985.

Abstract

It was found that about a fifth of the national labor force and about a quarter of the households were involved in SSE activities. Women accounted for 60% of the enterprise owners and 54% of the SSE labor force. (Author abstract, from PN-ABN-639)
