Sample design for Malawi annual primary school survey

Part 1 identifies and compares a number of sample design alternatives -- designs which a priori could be considered for the annual school survey. Based on analysis and comparison, one of these was recommended for use. Part 2 describes the recommended design in additional detail, selects a probability sample of schools in accordance with the design, presents design parameters needed in the data analysis, and describes the formulas to be used in analyzing the sample data collected in accordance with the design.
