Abstract
Cumulatively, the program has received 495 applications since its resumption in November 2014. These applications comprised 365 in the education sector, including 26 applications for "Let Girls Learn," and 130 in the sector for "Participation of Citizens in Governance." The program has also received and processed 1,066 applications/concept papers since the suspension of the Small Grants Program in June 2013. The program reviewed and submitted 45 applications along with initial review checklists to USAID for further action. Cumulatively, the program has submitted 467 applications along with initial review checklists to USAID. USAID initially reviewed 36 applications and cleared 8 applications for further processing. Cumulatively, USAID has reviewed 412 applications and approved 85 applications for further processing, with 55 applications still in the review process at USAID. During the reporting period, the program submitted 4 fully processed grant summaries to USAID. Cumulatively, the program has submitted 64 grant summaries to USAID. USAID has decided 57 cases and awarded 40 grants, with 3 summaries, including 2 for award cases, still in the process at USAID for final approval. The program received approval for 2 new grants, taking the total number of approved grants to 88, with 50 completed/closed, 36 ongoing, and grant agreements for 3 approved grants under preparation. The program disbursed US$ 518,357 to 15 grantee organizations after successful completion of stipulated milestones during the reporting month. Cumulatively, the program has disbursed US$ 11.599 million against the approved funds of US$ 18.502 million. The program staff conducted 27 monitoring visits to 23 ongoing grants to monitor quality of work, ensure transparency in fund utilization, and provide technical support to grantees in executing the grant.
