Abstract
The project envisions an integrated, innovative, and viable national organizational system and approach to TB prevention, treatment, and care. The project's objectives include rapidly identifying and expanding state-of-the-art approaches to maximize TB case detection and health-seeking behavior, integrating and institutionalizing high-impact practices to improve TB and drug-resistant TB (DR-TB) adherence and quality of care for public and nonpublic sectors, and creating a supportive environment encompassing the continuum of TB prevention to care. The TBIHSS Project is implemented by FHI 360 in the Philippines and is funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The project has undergone a Need-Based No-Cost Extension (NCE) and is entering a pivotal phase, with several notable transitions on the horizon. The project team is drafting a detailed close-out plan to ensure a seamless transition as the project wraps up. The strategic approach for this year involves two contiguous phases, which together help ensure seamless execution and a strong project conclusion. The team will focus on programmatic activities until March 2024, including the continuation of active case finding activities to catch up with the setbacks from previous months due to stockout of TB medicines. This phase will be concentrated on documentation of learnings, packaging interventions for knowledge and technology transfer, stakeholder debriefings, ensuring the sustainability of strategies and models, and refining any outstanding deliverables. Following the culmination of the programmatic phase in March 2024, the subsequent two months, April and May 2024, will be dedicated exclusively to close-out activities, which will be presented in the detailed close-out plan. The close-out phase will be planned to ensure that all contractual and administrative procedures are concluded efficiently. This structured approach is designed to honor the commitment to USAID, beneficiaries, and the broader development goals of the TBIHSS Project. The project's geographic coverage includes national and regional areas, with a focus on the National Capital Region (NCR), Region III, Region IVA, Region VII, and Region XII. The total budget for Year 7 is not specified in the provided document. The project's purpose is to achieve the national TB prevention and management targets through strategic mobilization and utilization of advanced science, art, and technologies. The project's objectives are aligned with the national TB prevention and management targets, and the project's approach is designed to ensure a seamless transition as the project wraps up. The project team is committed to documenting learnings, packaging interventions for knowledge and technology transfer, stakeholder debriefings, ensuring the sustainability of strategies and models, and refining any outstanding deliverables. The project's focus on TB prevention, treatment, and care is critical to achieving the national TB prevention and management targets. The project's approach is designed to ensure a strong project conclusion and to honor the commitment to USAID, beneficiaries, and the broader development goals of the TBIHSS Project.
