Abstract
The study aims to develop valid and reliable student worksheets that can be used to teach the concept of dynamic fluids in a scientific approach. The research design used is a mixed approach, combining quantitative and qualitative research methods, and follows the ADDIE model for learning device development. The study begins with an analysis of the current condition of the target school and the benefits of using student worksheets based on a scientific approach. The researchers observe that most teachers in the school still use the lecture method, which results in students being less enthusiastic in participating in learning. The researchers also find that the student worksheets currently used in the school are rarely used due to their complexity and lack of attractiveness. The development of the student worksheets is based on the scientific approach to the concept of dynamic fluids. The researchers use a mixed approach, collecting qualitative data through observation and interview sheets, and quantitative data through questionnaires for experts, teachers, and students. The indicators for the development of the observation sheet instruments, interview manuscripts, and questionnaires were adopted from previous researchers with adjustments to several question items. The research implementation begins with a reference analysis of the results of previous research and the conditions of the school being the research target. After analyzing the data from the initial stage, the researchers design the student worksheet in draft form. The draft is then tested for validity and reliability by experts and teachers, and the results are used to make adjustments to the worksheet. The study finds that the student worksheets based on a scientific approach to the concept of dynamic fluids are valid and reliable. The results of the pilot test show that the worksheets are effective in teaching the concept of dynamic fluids, and students respond positively to the worksheets. The study concludes that the use of student worksheets based on a scientific approach can improve the quality of education and increase student enthusiasm in learning. The study was conducted at the Public Middle School in Prisai Kutacane district, Southeast Aceh, and involved 36 students from class XI IPA-1. The researchers used a total of two validators for devices or media and two validators for content validation (physics field). The study was published in the Journal of Physics: Conference Series in 2021. The development of student worksheets based on a scientific approach in the dynamic fluid concepts is an important contribution to the field of education, particularly in the area of physics education. The study provides a model for the development of student worksheets that can be used in other subjects and contexts. The study also highlights the importance of using a scientific approach in teaching and learning, and the need for teachers to use effective and engaging teaching methods to improve student learning outcomes.
