Abstract
Final PES covers the period 1978-83 and is based on site visits by an engineering team. Five warehouses with a combined total floor area of 29,720 sq. feet have been constructed in preselected areas of Lesotho, with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) as the implementing agency. Because funding - originally budgeted for construction of six warehouses - proved, due to an increase in construction costs, sufficient for only three, the Government of Lesotho agreed to construct one warehouse, and an amendment to the OPG provided additional funding for the remaining two. The warehouses have well-designed, solid structural frames, spacious floor areas, solid foundations, proper site drainage, good ventilation, and effective rodent/insect control devices. Their construction has averted any disruption in the CRS P.L. 480 Title II supply programs, providing storage space for some 3,300 MT of commodities. Moreover, CRS can now ensure storage of sufficient commodities to cope with any emergency situation. No further action is indicated.
