TROPICAL SOILS - PRAIRIE A AND M, 211(D)

The 5-year grant, awarded in FY 70, was intended to strengthen Prairie View"s competence for assisting LDC"s in the area of tropical soils. An extension of the grant was approved in 6/76 with a revised purpose; i.e., "to develop and test a model on the adaptation and delivery of farming technology for poor farmers in LDC"s (case study in Ghana)". During the past year, Prairie View has made good progress on the State-of-the-Art paper on agri-technology delivery systems for LDC"s. The model testing in Ghana has moved along exceedingly well. According to the grantee, the poor farmers seem to accept their model very quickly.
