The marking plan outlines the guidelines for marking KCI's commodities, equipment, and program activities. The plan includes guidelines for marking vehicles, equipment, and other commodities, as well as for marking program activities and events. The plan also outlines the procedures for obtaining approval for marking activities and for ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. KCI's Afghan government counterpart is the Kabul Municipality, led by the Mayor who serves at ministerial rank as a presidential appointee. Kabul accounts for approximately fifty percent of Afghanistan's GDP, with an estimated quarter of the country's population residing in the city. KCI has embedded its project leadership and over half of its staff with the Mayor and his deputies at the Kabul Municipality, in all of the operating departments, and with outreach to each of the 22 districts. The KCI project is supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under the Sustainable Urban Management Indefinite Quantity Contract II (SUM II IQC). The project is implemented by Tetra Tech ARD/KCI, with the assistance of local partners and stakeholders. The project's overall goal is to support the development of Kabul Municipality's capacity to provide improved services to its citizens, and to promote the city's economic growth and development.
