Abstract
The program pursues three primary goals: improving women's financial literacy, strengthening their ability to start or operate a business, and empowering them to assume greater leadership roles. To achieve these objectives, the Go Women Program targets three categories of women: vulnerable women, women with business experience, and women in leadership positions. The program is implemented in close coordination with various Ukrainian partners, including NGOs, business development centers, and financial service providers. The Financial Literacy, Services, and Leadership Education for Vulnerable Women component is implemented by two Ukrainian NGOs, the West Ukrainian Center "Women's Perspectives" and the Ukrainian Women's Fund. These subcontractors conduct trainings and consulting services for vulnerable women on essential issues such as financial literacy, legal literacy, and personal effectiveness and leadership. The West Ukrainian Center "Women's Perspectives" provides two-, four, and six-hour trainings for vulnerable women, with three levels of complexity. The Ukrainian Women's Fund provides four one-day training modules, with two main training modules, one on entrepreneurship, and one on community leadership. The trainings are conducted in various regions across Ukraine, with the West Ukrainian Center focusing on five regions and the Ukrainian Women's Fund on seven regions. As of May 31, 2015, the subcontractors have achieved significant results under the Financial Literacy, Services, and Leadership Education for Vulnerable Women component. The West Ukrainian Center "Women's Perspectives" has trained 32 trainers from women NGOs in 12 oblasts of Ukraine and conducted 147 trainings on financial literacy and personal efficacy for vulnerable women. The Ukrainian Women's Fund has conducted 16 trainings, 2 information and motivation panels, and 5 webinars for women entrepreneurs and prospective entrepreneurs. The program has also provided consultations to women on financial, legal, and self-efficacy topics, with a total of 344.5 hours of consultations provided to 413 women. The trainings have been highly appreciated by the participants, with all training participants expressing their willingness to participate in future training modules. The program's overall goal is to reach approximately 4000 women through the trainings, with each woman participating in at least one training module and potentially participating in subsequent levels of training. The subcontractors are also expected to provide approximately 960 hours of consultations per region and organize peer support groups for the women participants.
