Abstract
The project, led by the Institute for International Education (IIE) and its consortium members, targets two districts: Trenggalek in East Java and Bandung in West Java. The project's primary objective is to equip P&V youth with entrepreneurship and other basic skills, provide them with seed funding, and link them to additional financing and ongoing support to help them start and grow sustainable small businesses. From January to March 2018, JAPRI completed several key activities, including selecting 90 youths in each target area to receive seed funding, conducting leadership workshops, organizing business inaugurations, and providing training of coaches. The project also conducted coaching and mentoring sessions, monitored coaching and mentoring activities, and introduced the JAPRI project at universities in West, Central, and East Java. The project's purpose is to equip P&V youth aged 18-30 with entrepreneurship and other basic skills, provide them with seed funding, and link them to additional financing and ongoing support. The project aims to achieve this purpose through three objectives: generating interest in entrepreneurship and willingness to take risks among P&V youth and support within their families and communities, equipping P&V youth with knowledge and skills to start and grow businesses that respond to local market conditions, and providing ongoing support to P&V youth entrepreneurs. The JAPRI project's result framework outlines the project's goals and intermediate results. The primary goal is to have P&V youth start up and sustain businesses. The intermediate result is to enhance P&V youth interest in entrepreneurship, which is further broken down into sub-intermediate results, including generating interest in entrepreneurship and willingness to take risks among P&V youth and support within their families and communities. The project's consortium members bring complementary strengths to JAPRI, including entrepreneurship expertise, a proven ability to work directly with P&V youth in Indonesia, and networks of local officials, private sector representatives, and successful youth entrepreneurs. JAPRI will work with local governments and community colleges to identify potential P&V youth and ensure a youth-friendly entrepreneurship module. The project's geographic focus is on two districts in Indonesia: Trenggalek in East Java and Bandung in West Java. The project's timeframes are from January to March 2018, with ongoing activities and support for P&V youth entrepreneurs. The project's recommendations are not explicitly stated in the provided document, but the project's objectives and result framework provide a clear direction for the project's implementation and evaluation. Overall, the JAPRI project aims to promote entrepreneurship among P&V youth in Indonesia, providing them with the skills, support, and resources needed to start and grow sustainable small businesses. The project's objectives and result framework outline a clear path for achieving this goal, and the project's consortium members bring the necessary expertise and networks to support the project's implementation.
