Abstract
A total of 15 entries are included, covering: (1) women and the law, including the legal status of women in Malawi and South Africa, women and inheritance, and women and human rights; (2) cultural barriers to women"s advancement and strategies for addressing them; (3) women and health, covering women"s reproductive rights, women and AIDS, and early motherhood as a constraint to women"s advancement; (4) women and the political process, with emphasis on influencing the legislature; and (5) how women NGOs can use networking to increase their influence.
