2024

Abstract
The report explores the humanitarian-development-peace nexus (HDpN) for family planning, reproductive health, and maternal, newborn, and child health interventions in Mali. It highlights the HDpN as necessary for planning, providing, and using health services to those disproportionately affected by crises. The report examines the challenges within the HDpN, including competing priorities among humanitarian and development actors. It also explores Mali's history of humanitarian, development, and peace efforts, highlighting the need for an integrated, multi-sectoral approach to health, food security, nutrition, and economic development. The report provides recommendations for addressing structural barriers, developing pragmatic applications of the nexus, investing in autonomy and financial capacity, aligning humanitarian and development planning, and expanding integrated approaches for maternal, newborn, and child health and reproductive health.
