Abstract
The report summarizes the key findings of a pilot study that explored the costs and major cost drivers of family planning (FP) and maternal health (MH) service delivery in the public and private sectors in three countries: the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Nigeria, and Tanzania. The study aimed to develop a lean costing approach to capture and compare FP and MH costs and cost drivers in public and private facilities more efficiently. The report presents the methodology, results, and implications of the study, highlighting the importance of understanding the costs of healthcare delivery in both the public and private sectors to inform decision-making and improve healthcare coverage and equity of health outcomes.
