This document is a poster presentation titled A Comparison of Household Consumption and Expenditure Survey Data to 24-Hour Dietary Recall Data in Estimating Dietary Intake of Fortifiable Foods in Malawi.

Abstract
The poster compares the use of household consumption and expenditure survey (HCES) data and 24-hour dietary recall data to estimate the consumption of fortified foods and micronutrient inadequacies in Malawi. The study finds that HCES data can provide a relatively easy and fast approximation of the quality of diets and the contribution of large-scale food fortification to reducing micronutrient inadequacies, although it may require improvement of the food list, especially for certain food groups like fish and pulses. The poster presents the results of the study, including tables and figures comparing the median apparent consumption quantity and percentage of coverage between HCES and 24-hour data, as well as the prevalence of inadequate nutrient intakes under different fortification scenarios.
