Abstract
It presents the findings of a formative research conducted in the Kyrgyz Republic to understand the dietary practices of families with children under two years old and the factors that affect their diet, child feeding, and nutrition status. The research was conducted in two regions: Jumgal rayon of Naryn oblast and 10 jurisdictions of Jalalabad oblast. The report provides an overview of the research methodology, background information on the nutrition issues in the Kyrgyz Republic, and the context of the target areas. It also presents the findings on dietary intake, infant and young child feeding practices, and factors affecting family diet, including food availability, access, and preservation. The report aims to inform the SPRING project's strategies and communication materials to improve the nutritional status of women and children in the target areas.
