USAID, FANTA, FHI 360 · 2018

Abstract
It presents the results of four research studies conducted by the Food and Nutrition Technical Assistance III Project (FANTA) to improve the understanding and implementation of interventions focused on preventing undernutrition during the first 1,000 days of life. The studies were conducted in Guatemala, Burundi, Bangladesh, and Malawi, and evaluated the impact and cost-effectiveness of various nutrition interventions, including the Preventing Malnutrition in Children Under 2 Approach (PM2A), lipid-based nutrient supplements (LNS), and micronutrient powders (MNP). The report aims to inform effective policies and programs that low- and middle-income countries can implement to prevent malnutrition in their specific contexts.
