2019 · 37 pages

Abstract
The survey is open to organizations that have committed at least USD 10 million to impact investments or completed at least five impact investing transactions. Respondents are asked to provide information about their organization's impact investing objectives and activities, including the location of their headquarters and other regions where they have offices. The survey collects data on various aspects of impact investing, including the amount of capital raised and targeted for 2019, the types of investors and their percentage of total capital, and the drivers of client demand. Respondents are also asked about their experience with faith-based investors, including the percentage of assets managed from faith-based investors and the types of faith-based investors they have raised capital from. The survey also inquires about the challenges faced when raising capital from faith-based investors, including a lack of knowledge or familiarity with impact investing, and the target returns not being achievable or concerns about exit options/liquidity. Additionally, respondents are asked about the expected volume of growth from faith-based investors in impact investing over the next three years. The survey also collects data on the volume of capital invested and the number of transactions made since inception, as well as the volume of capital invested and the number of transactions planned for 2019. The data is collected by instrument, including deposits and cash equivalents, private debt, public debt, equity-like debt, private equity, public equity, and real assets. The GIIN will collect and analyze the data, and findings will be released in a report available to the public. Respondent organizations are given the choice to be acknowledged as survey participants in a list at the back of the report. All data will remain anonymous, and respondents will also receive priority access to the findings. The survey is designed to capture the views of active impact investors and provide a comprehensive overview of the impact investment market. The data collected will help to identify trends and challenges in impact investing and provide insights for investors, policymakers, and other stakeholders. The survey's findings will provide valuable insights into the impact investment market, including the growth of impact investing, the types of investors and investments, and the challenges faced by impact investors. The data will also help to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for growth in the impact investment market. The survey's results will be used to inform the development of impact investing strategies and policies, and to provide insights for investors, policymakers, and other stakeholders. The data will also be used to track progress towards the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to identify areas where impact investing can make a positive contribution. The survey's methodology involves collecting data from a sample of impact investors, including fund managers, banks, and other organizations that have committed to impact investing. The data is collected through a comprehensive survey that covers various aspects of impact investing, including the amount of capital raised and targeted, the types of investors and their percentage of total capital, and the drivers of client demand. The survey's results will be released in a report that provides a comprehensive overview of the impact investment market. The report will include data on the growth of impact investing, the types of investors and investments, and the challenges faced by impact investors. The report will also provide insights for investors, policymakers, and other stakeholders, and will help to inform the development of impact investing strategies and policies.
