Abstract
The program is implemented by the Ministry of Education (MOE) with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The program focuses on enhancing the literacy and numeracy skills of students in primary schools. The program's curriculum includes language arts, mathematics, and science. Language arts instruction emphasizes reading, writing, and comprehension skills, while mathematics instruction focuses on basic arithmetic operations and problem-solving. Science instruction covers topics such as biology, chemistry, and physics. The program's assessment tools include a Level 2A Completion Test, which evaluates students' language arts skills. The test consists of multiple-choice questions and short-answer questions that assess students' knowledge of grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension. The test also includes questions that evaluate students' ability to identify and use correct punctuation, capitalization, and spelling. The test is divided into several sections, each assessing a different aspect of language arts. Section 1 evaluates students' ability to identify and use proper nouns, while Section 2 assesses their knowledge of grammar and vocabulary. Section 3 evaluates students' ability to identify and use correct suffixes, while Section 4 assesses their knowledge of verb tenses. Section 5 evaluates students' ability to identify and use correct punctuation, while Section 6 assesses their knowledge of silent letters. Section 7 evaluates students' ability to identify and use correct verb tenses, while Section 8 assesses their knowledge of punctuation. Section 9 evaluates students' ability to identify and use correct subjects and predicates, while Section 10 assesses their knowledge of digraphs. Section 11 requires students to write four complete sentences that describe their weekend activities. The program's assessment tools are designed to evaluate students' language arts skills and provide teachers with feedback on their instruction. The results of the assessment can be used to identify areas where students need additional support and to inform instruction. The program's implementation is overseen by the MOE, which works closely with USAID to ensure that the program meets its goals. The program's success is measured by the improvement in students' language arts skills, as well as their overall academic performance. The program's impact is expected to be significant, as it aims to improve the quality of education in Liberia and enhance the literacy and numeracy skills of students.
