Abstract
3: "Sustainable Improvements in Health of Women and Children Achieved." Each RP supports one of the three first-level intermediate results under the SO No. 3, as follows: (1) a Child Survival RP will support "Increased use of appropriate child survival practices and services", (2) a Reproductive Health RP will support "Increased use of appropriate reproductive health practices and services", and (3) a Policy RP will support "Enhanced policy environment to support sustainability of child survival and reproductive health programs". The three RPs will be implemented under 5 existing activities (projects) and one new activity. The five existing activities are: (1) Maternal Health and Child Survival (PROSAMI), Project No. 5190367 (7/90-12/98); (2) Family Health Services (SDA), Project No. 5190363 (7/90-12/98); (3) Health Systems Support (APSISA), Project No. 5190308 (8/86-8/99); (4) Displaced and Street Children (PROCIPOTES), Project No. 5190420 (9/94-3/98); and (5) Public Services Improvement, Project No. 5190320 (8/89-9/02). The last project also supports the "Increased Access to Potable Water and Sanitation Systems" RP. One new health activity (5190430), expected to run for 5 years, is planned. A later document identifies the new activity as the Healthy Salvadorans or SALSA Activity (see PD-ABQ-445).
