AID cooperative agreement no. 519-0349-A-00-2036-00 with the Institute for Liberty and Democracy (ILD) to provide technical assistance to implement the real - property registry system

ILD will: (1) provide TA in modifying regulations relating to property registry, redesign and install software for the new registry system, and train Salvadoran staff in the legal and technical aspects of the system; (2) test the registry system via a pilot phase which will register property titles at a lower scale, i.e., only a few plots from marginal communities or informal settlements will be registered; (3) adjust the system as needed, and then conduct a 2-month assessment of massive registrations; and (4) provide Salvadoran staff with additional TA as will be needed for ongoing operation of the registry system.
