Abstract
Proposals will be developed to: (1) design a sectoral strategy and policies for resolving rural poverty by strengthening micro-farming and an existing democratic labor federation; (2) devise a strategy and policies to resolve environmental problems and to protect natural resources; (3) evaluate the Central American integration process; (4) design an electronic communication and research network; and (5) study an alternative financing system for urban microenterpreneurs. At least one seminar and one conference will provide government, business, clergy, labor, and political representatives with the opportunity to reach a consensus regarding sustainable human development issues that arise during proposal development. Results of these forums may be disseminated through brochures. FUCAD will be provided technical expertise for the design of selected project proposals and for organization and management development, and with modest funding for operations (e.g., communications, local transport, office supplies, and publications).
