Abstract
The Societe Haitenne d"Etude et d"Execution des Projets Agricoles (SHEEPA) will: (1) renovate the central nursery facilities at Hinche, including the replacement of shade structures and the enlargement of the irrigation/spray system; (2) produce 75,000 grafted fruit trees (52,500 citrus, 11,250 mango, 7,500 avocado, 3,750 other) and distribute them (@$0.20 per plant) to an estimated 1,500 farmers who own less than 5 carreaux of land; (3) train 2 nursery managers and 12 extension agents in grafting and fruit management; and (4) carry out site- specific research.
