AID cooperative agreement no. EUR-0032-A-00-1022-00 with the Aid to Artisans, Inc. to assist Hungarian artisans in developing products for export to US markets

(ATA), to help Hungarian artisans and artisan cooperatives to develop craft products for the U.S. market. ATA"s approach will be to improve Hungarian artisans" product design and business skills, and establish strong links to the U.S. market. Activities will include: product development workshops with Hungarocoop artisans in the fields of textiles, pottery, and glass; field trips by U.S. buyers to crafts villages to observe production, provide advice, and make sample purchases; and business and export training of artisans and co-op staff. In addition, ATA will use its sales contacts to establish Hungarian handicrafts in the U.S. market, and will represent Hungarocoop at the New York Gift Show, distribute promotional materials, and involve selected U.S. buyers in product development and marketing.
