AID cooperative agreement no. EUR-0032-A-00-3041-00 with the Support Centers of America, International Division (SCA) to support US and Romanian PVOs [private voluntary organizations] implementing child welfare programs in Romania under the PVO humanitarian/development initiatives

and Romanian PVOs implementing child welfare programs in Romania. SCA will collaborate with the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). SCA will: (1) identify groups of Romanian volunteers involved in the provision of child welfare assistance that already are or have the potential to become viable PVOs; (2) provide TA that will help them to become PVOs (training will cover PVO development, organization, and management, including Board and staff roles and responsibilities; project planning, monitoring, and follow-up; personnel management; and financial management and fundraising); (3) increase PVO access to local and Western resources; and (4) support the establishment of a Romanian Association of Social Workers; Romanian representatives will be offered the opportunity to travel to the U.S. to observe NASW operations.
