Abstract
Environmental Technology Export Council (ETEC), and a subgrantee, the Environmental Business Council (EBC), to organize and conduct a series of four U.S. study tours to introduce developing country decision makers to advanced U.S. technologies in the often overlapping areas of industrial energy efficiency and environmental technologies. A typical study tour will consist of: (1) a one-day orientation in the United States; (2) site visits to observe environmental technologies at work in the field, coordinated, if possible, with conferences or workshops held by relevant government, industry, interest, or scientific groups; and (3) a debriefing/consolidation workshop before departure. It is hoped that exposing developing country decision makers to U.S. technologies in the areas of industrial efficiency and environmental protection will both stimulate demand for these technologies and improve the competitive position of U.S. firms to supply them.
