Abstract
Working Group on Global Energy Efficiency, of which IIEC serves as the Secretariat. IIEC will target 3-5 countries (Mexico, Brazil, Indonesia, and potentially, one country in Eastern Europe and one in Africa), seeking donor funding for the Working Group"s portfolio of about 40 energy efficiency project proposals; these proposals address such areas as information exchange, training, demonstration activities, financing, technology export, and joint technology research. In addition, IIEC will: (1) expand the involvement of the U.S. business community in the Working Group; (2) strengthen linkages with developing and Eastern European governments and individuals, encouraging the formation of Working Groups in other regions of the world; and (3) working with South-based institutions, develop energy efficiency training courses and materials and undertake such a training program for NGOs.
