Local currency grant is provided under project 522-ESF-0306 to Hermandad de Honduras to support community development and nutrition activities in 16 Honduran villages surrounding the city of San Marcos de Ocotepeque.

Abstract
The project will focus on small enterprise skills, housing improvement and construction, and the creation of a Nutritional Recuperation Center (NRC). The project"s community development component will provide assistance for activities in shoemaking, bricklaying, housing improvements (300 houses), and construction (30 houses), as well as the manufacturing of children"s clothing and the formation of housing cooperatives. Approximately 1,700 persons will benefit from this component. An NRC will be established to serve some 1,080 malnourished children and to provide nutrition education, coupled with vegetable gardening.
