AID grant no. 388-0000-G-SS-1036-00 to Save the Children (USA) to provide immediate relief in the form of commodity donations to flood - affected areas resulting from the cyclone that struck the coast of southeastern Bangladesh on the night of April 29, 1991

Grant is provided to Save the Children Federation (SCF) to distribute some 250,000 water purification tablets in the greater Chittagong and Mirerswari/Sitakundia areas of Bangladesh, where millions of people are stranded without pure drinking water following the cyclone of April 29, 1991.

Abstract

The tablets will be distributed through two other NGOs: CONCERN and NIJERA. Amendment of 8/91 reduces the number of water purification tablets to be distributed to 25,000. (PD-ABG-916)
