AID grant no. 493-0014-G-00-1178-00 to the Prosthetic Research Foundation (PRF) for extension of PRF prosthetic services in Vietnam

The grant will finance the design and fabrication of 1,000 lower limb prostheses during 1992. The prostheses, which are of a low cost modular design which utilizes the Automated Fabrication of Mobility Aids (AFMA) technology developed by PRF in the United States, will be provided to Vietnamese men, women, and children regardless of the source of amputation, political or religious persuasion, or ethnic background. Also funded is an ambulance for patient transport from outlying districts.
