AID grant no 499-0002-G-00-3763-00 to National Democratic Institute for International Affairs to support the electoral assistance program for the Pakistani provincial and national elections in October 1993

There will be four activities: (1) a pre-election survey to assess Pakistan"s administrative preparations and campaign environment; (2) a sustained in-country NDI presence to provide training for domestic monitoring efforts by political parties and other groups, to document political and administrative developments during the campaign, and to provide electoral information to other observer groups; (3) an international and multipartisan observer delegation; and (4) post-election investigations and discussions to assess and promote Pakistani confidence in the electoral process.
