AID grant no. LAC-0794-G-00-1006-00 to the Center for Democracy to support a program of nonpartisan election observer missions to ensure a free and fair election in El Salvador on March 10, 1991

CFD will (1) open an office in San Salvador to monitor all stages of the electoral process; (2) establish an information center to disseminate information pertinent to the electoral process to all interested parties; and (3) field a five-day, forty-member election observer delegation which will include international election experts, regional specialists, and U.S. and international governmental/party leadership and staff. CFD will send these observers to all areas of the country, with a special focus on areas where irregularities may arise.
