AID grant no. 598-0616-G-00-1089-00 to Centro Agrocol, A.C. to support the silvo - pastoral and reforestation system project in Mexico

The system aims at increasing and improving grazing pastures for sheep while also supporting reforestation. this system, sheep ranchers fence different tracts of land to permit different land uses -- grazing, reforestation, and/or renewal of overgrazed areas. Over time, land is shifted from grazing to reforestation areas until the whole area is reforested and the grazing pastures increase their productivity. portion of the project involves training local residents in the system and in a greater respect for natural resources.
