AID grant no. 598-0616-G-00-0064-00 to the Universidad de las Americas, A.C. in Mexico to augment the costs of conducting the Maquila employee attrition study

The University will: determine the causes of maquiladora employee turnover; suggest management solutions; apply the results in actual maquiladora settings; and encourage cooperative linkages between U.S. and Mexican universities and Federal Government Agencies. Since hundreds of U.S.-based companies operate within the maquiladora industry in Mexico, USAID has particular interest in learning about social repercussions, successes of maquila industries, and national and international migration issues.
