Grant is provided under the Basic Education program/project to World Education to carry out a pilot project to develop Parent-Teacher Associations (to be known by the French acronym, APEs) in the 18 primary schools of Commune V of Bamako, Mali.

Abstract
World Education will assist the APEs in the election of new representatives and will train the elected bodies in management/accounting, planning, communication, community sensitization, problem solving, negotiation, etc. Initial training will focus on using Fundamental Education Support Fund (FAEF) monies for physical improvement of the schools.
