AID grant no. DAN-5055-A-00-7082-00 to American Association of State Colleges and Universities for a linkage program to increase the participation of smaller US state colleges and universities in AID"s Title XII program

state colleges and universities in A.I.D."s Title XII programs. Specific activities are as follows. (1) Building on the existing Directory of the American Association of State Colleges of Agriculture and Renewable Resources (AASCARR), AASCU will compile a data base of institutional capabilities, interests, and availabilities; the data base will be used by the Board for International Food and Development (BIFAD) in identifying contractors and collaborators for Title XII work. (2) A fellows program will be developed to place individual faculty of smaller institutions on short-term assignments on Title XII projects overseas. (3) Workshops will be held to help AASCU member institutions assess their commitment and capabilities and to help develop channels of communication with BIFAD/A.I.D. (4) AASCU and BIFAD will help several institutions to develop linkages with larger institutions for joint proposals or for proposals for subcontracts within larger Title XII projects. Lessons learned in this process will be shared with all state colleges and universities.
