AID grant no. EUR-0158-G-00-1087-00 to the American Committee for Aid to Poland, Inc. (ACAP) to develop and carry out programs encouraging civic and individual self-help and related activities on both a local and national level in Poland

(ACAP) to (1) advance democratization in Poland through support of civic and self-help groups at the national and local level, and (2) strengthen capacities of other U.S. PVOs to do the same. ACAP will strengthen a consortium of local self-help groups in the Ochota district of Warsaw; transfer the local model to the national level; support a database on self-help initiatives in Poland; facilitate dialogue among U.S. PVOs working in Poland; and distribute surplus Department of Defense supplies to nongovernmental groups and institutions in Poland.
