Abstract
Operating in 10 governorates, CARE will: (1) upgrade feeding centers, their equipment and furnishing as needed, improve systems for commodity management and program monitoring; and (2) incorporate basic health screening and referral activities (currently provided by public health nurses and social workers via a house-to-house visiting approach) and health/nutrition education into the centers. Included in the project will be the training of NCSS Directors, feeding center organizers, public health nurses, and social workers. The project is expected to benefit 98,000 children participating in feeding activities, along with their mothers and young siblings.
