Subproject to help the Association Ivoirienne pour le Bien-Etre Familial (AIBEF) carry out family planning (FP) information, education, and communication (IEC) and training activities in the Ivory Coast.

Abstract
AIBEF"s parent organization, the International Planned Parenthood Federation, will assist in subproject implementation. IEC topics to be covered include FP and its health and social benefits, and the problems of clandestine abortions, teenage pregnancies, and sexually transmitted diseases. Quantitative IEC targets include: (1) 5 conferences for administrative, political, and social leaders at urban centers in the interior; (2) 6 mini-workshops for health and social services personnel at these same centers; (3) 110 community meetings; (4) 582 educational talks at health and social centers; (5) 1,400 home visits; (6) a theatrical festival and competition; (7) a 2-day seminar for 35 journalists; (8) a 1-week promotional campaign and ongoing IEC activities in Boundiali. In all, some 3,000 persons will be benefit. Three 3-day training workshops, to be held in Abidjan, Korhogo, and Boundiali, will familiarize a total of 30 new AIBEF volunteers with AIBEF"s statutes, procedures, goals, etc.
