AID operational program grant to Cooperative Housing Foundation to support the activities of the CHF housing technical assistance and revolving capital fund program in Costa Rica

The project is a follow-on to regional project 5970012. CHF, in collaboration with participating local institutions, will develop some 1,100 subprojects, mostly in rural areas. Loans will be made through federations and cooperatives, at market rates, to beneficiaries in the 45th income percentile or lower; proceeds will be paid into the revolving fund. CHF will provide TA, training (seminars, workshops, site visits, on-the-job training), and technical publications to build the capacity of participating institutions to duplicate these projects in the future. Ten Peace Corps volunteers will participate in implementation and will learn how to better serve individual beneficiaries and their cooperatives.
