Abstract
The programme operates in Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Guinea, with a focus on the three most affected regions in Guinea: N'zérékoré, Kindia, and Conakry. The primary objectives of the ETP&SS programme are to reduce or eliminate the risk of Ebola transmission from survivors to other individuals, and to ensure that survivors have access to healthcare and psychosocial services. To achieve these objectives, the programme aims to strengthen national and local coordination, implement the national plan for Ebola survivors, and provide direct assistance to a limited number of public sector health facilities. The programme focuses on improving the health services needed by survivors through direct assistance to health facilities, training for healthcare providers, and equipment for clinical services. The interventions are concentrated in the three most affected regions, with some activities covering the entire country. An important component of the programme is community-based surveillance, which involves monitoring survivors and their contacts to detect symptoms and ensure that those with symptoms have access to healthcare services. The programme also assists the National Network of Ebola Survivors Associations in Guinea (RENASEG) in strengthening its capacity to meet the needs of its members. This capacity strengthening will enable RENASEG to implement programme components such as community-based surveillance, semen testing for eligible men, and activities related to stigma reduction. The programme is implemented by Advancing Partners & Communities (APC), a five-year cooperative agreement funded by USAID, in collaboration with JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. and FHI360. The programme's goal is to improve the health and well-being of individuals and communities in Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Liberia, and to reduce the risk of Ebola transmission and stigma associated with the disease.
