Abstract
The program focuses on increasing the value of targeted agricultural commodities exported with USG assistance, as well as improving the average increase in agricultural income for beneficiary households due to USG assistance. AVANSE has identified several key objectives, including increasing agricultural productivity, improving watershed stability, and strengthening agricultural markets. The program has established a number of performance indicators to measure its progress, including the value of targeted agricultural commodities exported, the average increase in agricultural income for beneficiary households, and the number of farmers and others who have applied improved technologies or management practices with USG assistance. The monitoring and evaluation approach for AVANSE involves a range of data collection and analysis activities, including data quality analysis, data quality analysis, and periodic evaluation of ongoing performance. The program also includes an environmental monitoring and mitigation plan to ensure that its activities do not harm the environment. AVANSE has established a beneficiary database to track the progress of beneficiary households and to identify areas where additional support may be needed. The program has also established a number of instruments for M&E data collection, including baseline surveys, post-harvest surveys, and performance indicator reference sheets. These instruments will be used to collect data on a range of indicators, including the value of targeted agricultural commodities exported, the average increase in agricultural income for beneficiary households, and the number of farmers and others who have applied improved technologies or management practices with USG assistance. AVANSE has also established a number of indicators to measure its progress, including the number of beneficiary households with increased agricultural income due to USG assistance, the number of rural households benefiting directly from USG interventions, and the number of individuals who have received short-term agricultural productivity or food security training. The program has also established indicators to measure its impact on the environment, including the number of hectares of land under improved natural resource management and the number of people with improved economic benefits derived from natural resource management and/or biodiversity conservation. Overall, AVANSE aims to improve agricultural productivity and strengthen agricultural markets in the North region of Haiti, while also promoting sustainable natural resource management and biodiversity conservation. The program's monitoring and evaluation approach will provide a framework for tracking its progress and identify areas where additional support may be needed.
