Abstract
The program aims to promote sustainable agricultural practices, improve rural infrastructure, and increase job opportunities for local communities. In the Eastern Region, community-constructed infrastructure projects have been implemented, including the construction of roads, bridges, and irrigation systems. In the agricultural sector, the program has made significant strides in improving productivity and agribusiness. Women's poultry projects, such as the one in Argo, Badakshan, have shown promising results, with increased egg production and sales. The program has also established demonstration plots to showcase sustainable agricultural practices, including composting and crop rotation methods. Job creation has been a key focus area for the IDEA-NEW initiative. In the Eastern Region, over 2,000 jobs have been created in the agriculture and rural infrastructure sectors. The program has also established a network of community institutions, including cooperatives and farmers' associations, to support rural enterprise development. Women's income generation has been a priority, with the program providing training and support to women-headed households. In the Western Region, the program has made significant progress in building capacity of community institutions.
