Shepperd, James; Ehmer, Paul · 1983
Abstract
Evaluation covers the period 7/79-1/83 and consists of a PES facesheet attached to a final evaluation (XD-AAM-507-A). Regarding continuation of the program after termination of A.I.D. support, it is recommended that: (1) the financial records of the project and of its sponsor, Coordination in Development (CODEL), be audited, with special attention to identifying equipment purchased with project funds and determining its present location; (2) CODEL turn over title to project equipment and supplies to the Government of Tanzania; (3) the Tumor Center maintain relationships with Howard and Harvard Universities, depending on them for information, training, communication, and other assistance; (4) the Center refocus its efforts on epidemiologic surveillance, working collaboratively with the Ministry of Health; (5) the Center identify organizations likely to support cancer control programs; (6) Tumor Center staff receive management training at the earliest possible date; and (7) the Center seek the assistance of the World Federation of Public Health Associations in establishing a Tanzanian Cancer Society.
