Abstract
The program is promoted by the Iniciativa para la Conservación en la Amazonía Andina and executed by the Centro de Estudios Médicos Interculturales with the academic support of the Facultad de Ciencias Políticas y Jurídicas of the Universidad El Bosque and the Grupo de Estudios en Sistemas Tradicionales de Salud of the Universidad del Rosario. The program seeks to accompany the indigenous peoples from the perspective of intercultural dialogue, rather than imposing Western models of thought and development. This approach is based on the understanding that the indigenous peoples have their own systems of authority and law, which are rooted in their ancestral traditions and myths of origin. These systems are not simply a collection of customs and practices, but a complex and deeply ingrained way of organizing their social and cultural lives. The Ley de Origen, or Law of Origin, is a central concept in the indigenous worldview. It refers to the set of principles and values that were given to the people by their ancestors and that continue to guide their behavior and decision-making. The Ley de Origen is not a written code, but a living and dynamic system that is passed down through generations through stories, myths, and rituals. The Ley de Origen is composed of various norms and principles that regulate different aspects of indigenous life, including the organization of community life, the use and management of the territory, and the relationship between the physical and spiritual worlds. These norms are not separate from one another, but are interconnected and interdependent, and are all part of a larger system of justice, order, and well-being. The program of formation of Gestores Legales Interculturales seeks to help the indigenous peoples to recover and value their own systems of law and authority, and to apply them in their daily lives. This requires a deep understanding of the Ley de Origen and its principles and values, as well as a commitment to respecting and honoring the indigenous way of life. By supporting the indigenous peoples in their efforts to defend and conserve their territories and natural resources, the program aims to contribute to the preservation of their cultural heritage and the promotion of their human rights. The program is based on the recognition that the indigenous peoples have a unique and valuable contribution to make to the world, and that their knowledge and experiences are essential for the conservation and sustainable use of the natural resources of the Vaupés region. By working together with the indigenous peoples, the program aims to build a more just and equitable society, where the rights and dignity of all people are respected and valued. The program has been made possible through the support of the Iniciativa para la Conservación en la Amazonía Andina and the Centro de Estudios Médicos Interculturales, as well as the academic support of the Facultad de Ciencias Políticas y Jurídicas of the Universidad El Bosque and the Grupo de Estudios en Sistemas Tradicionales de Salud of the Universidad del Rosario. The program is committed to respecting the rights and dignity of the indigenous peoples, and to working in a spirit of solidarity and cooperation to promote their well-being and development.
