Abstract
The initiative is led by EnCompass LLC and is funded by USAID's Global Water Communication and Knowledge Management II contract (Contract No. 7200AA21M00005). The CKM II team aims to maintain momentum in communications and knowledge management work, despite changes in implementing partners, by emphasizing collaborative and rapid reviews of systems and products. The Year 1 work plan for CKM II focuses on two core components: Task 1, Communication and Engagement, and Task 2, Knowledge Management and Website Management. Task 1 involves producing and sharing stories, digital and visual content, and messages from USAID's Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WSSH) activities. The team will research and document major events and publications to build a CKM editorial calendar, develop dedicated production calendars and dissemination plans, and use in-house design specialists to integrate new approaches and tools for data visualization and creative storytelling. The team will also track, adapt, and report on digital engagement, including Twitter and Medium analytics, newsletter opens and clicks, web traffic, and user surveys. They will identify innovative digital communication avenues to share and highlight resources. Key activities and deliverables for Task 1 include designing and producing the FY20 USAID Global Water & Development Report, developing and maintaining a strategic editorial calendar, writing and sharing stories, and packaging content into integrated digital communication campaigns and social media toolkits. Task 2, Knowledge Management and Website Management, involves developing and implementing a knowledge management approach that supports the project's intended results and objective. The team will work closely with the Center for WSSH to develop a comprehensive stakeholder map, profiles, and customized engagement strategies. They will also support participation in global events and forums, including regularly engaging stakeholders to identify a mix of internal and external digital and in-person avenues for sharing WSSH progress and evidence. The CKM II team will conduct a virtual listening tour with selected stakeholders to learn about their engagement with Global Waters, recruit and convene the Global Waters Advisory Group, and develop stakeholder maps and profiles to support engagement. They will also support the Center and other Agency technical experts to identify opportunities to influence discourse and policy in water and sanitation and related sectors. The team will prepare event materials and content for Center leadership, the Global Water Coordinator, and others, and coordinate USAID engagement in global events and forums.
