Abstract
The CKM II team is led by EnCompass LLC, with the Institute for Development Impact (I4DI) and FHI360 as subcontractors. The project's objective is to provide knowledge management and communication services in support of USAID's Water and Development Plan and the Agency's efforts to engage and expand its network of water sector stakeholders, champions, and others within and beyond the U.S. Government. The CKM II project's results framework is designed to achieve this objective. The framework consists of a project objective, three intermediate results, and sub-intermediate results. The project objective is to provide knowledge management and communication services in support of USAID's Water and Development Plan and the Agency's efforts to engage and expand its network of water sector stakeholders, champions, and others within and beyond the U.S. Government. The three intermediate results are: IR 1. Greater awareness and understanding of USAID WASH activities; IR 2. Increased access to and use of information; and IR 3. Increased sharing, learning, and collaborating. The CKM II team will achieve these results through a variety of tasks, including communications content, knowledge management, engagement support, website management, and data-driven storytelling and visualization. The team will also collaborate intentionally with stakeholders to share knowledge and reduce duplication of effort. This collaboration will involve working with representatives of targeted audiences, WASH central mechanisms, USAID WASH staff, and other relevant stakeholders. The CKM II team is using an adapted version of the Kirkpatrick model to help frame and prioritize learning. The project's goal is to increasingly move people from reception (i.e., receiving knowledge or information) to behavior change (i.e., they change their behavior based on something they learned) to results (e.g., stronger national/district WASH systems or accelerated progress to Sustainable Development Goal 6). The team will track reception and reaction, and use proxy indicators to identify learning and behavior change. The CKM II project's performance indicators will be used to track progress towards the project's objectives and results. The indicators will be tracked through a variety of data sources, including surveys, focus groups, and website analytics. The data will be analyzed and used to inform project decisions and adjust the project's approach as needed. The CKM II team will also implement a quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) plan to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the data collected. The plan will involve regular data management and quality control checks, as well as procedures for addressing any data quality issues that may arise. Overall, the CKM II project is designed to provide knowledge management and communication services in support of USAID's Water and Development Plan and the Agency's efforts to engage and expand its network of water sector stakeholders, champions, and others within and beyond the U.S. Government. The project will achieve this objective through a variety of tasks and activities, including collaboration with stakeholders, data-driven storytelling and visualization, and performance indicator tracking.
