Abstract
AID-OAA-TO-11-00040 was implemented under The Integrated Water and Coastal Resources Management Indefinite Quantity Contract (WATER IQC II) Contract No. AID-EPP-I-00-04-00024. The task order aimed to support USAID missions and bureaus in mainstreaming climate change adaptation and resilience into their programs. The task order was divided into three objectives. Objective 1 focused on supporting USAID missions and bureaus, with activities including guidance, pilots, and research, as well as information, tools, and science and technology. Task 1.1.1 involved revising the Vulnerability and Adaptation (V&A) manual, while Task 1.2.3 supported the United Nations Development Programme Adaptation Learning Mechanism (ALM) website. Objective 2 aimed to coordinate with other US government agencies to support mainstreaming, with activities including adaptation partnership workshops and task 2.1.1, which conducted adaptation partnership workshops. Objective 3 identified and responded to emerging issues and filled gaps, with activities including support for adaptation planning and implementation, task 3.1.1, which supported the preparation of national adaptation plans. The Climate Change Resilient Development Task Order also supported the development of climate services, including task 3.3.2, which coordinated activities of the Climate Services Partnership, and task 3.3.8, which developed climate services products for the agricultural sector. Additionally, the task order supported the Climate Resilient Infrastructure Services Program, including task 3.4.1, which identified pilot cities, and task 3.4.2, which provided support to pilot cities to accelerate climate risk management. The task order achieved several performance indicators and achievements, including the development of climate briefs and annexes, support for the ALM website, and the identification of pilot cities for the Climate Resilient Infrastructure Services Program. The task order also supported the development of climate services products and the evaluation of CRIS activities. The Climate Change Resilient Development Task Order was implemented by Engility-IRG, with Glen Anderson serving as the Chief of Party. The task order was funded by USAID and was part of the Climate Change Resilient Development program. The program aimed to support USAID missions and bureaus in mainstreaming climate change adaptation and resilience into their programs. The task order supported the development of climate services, including climate prediction tools and climate risk management. It also supported the development of climate-resilient infrastructure, including the identification of pilot cities and the provision of support to these cities to accelerate climate risk management.
