Abstract
The monitor is a crucial component, resembling a television, and serves as the primary interface for displaying work and files. It allows users to visualize and interact with the computer's output. The Central Processing Unit (CPU) is the brain of the computer, responsible for executing instructions and performing calculations. CPUs can be desktop models, where the monitor sits on top of, or tower models, which stand upright. They contain the processing unit, memory, and control units, enabling the computer to perform various tasks. In addition to the CPU, computers have various storage devices. The floppy disk drive is a type of disk drive that reads information from a thin, floppy disk housed in a hard plastic case. Floppy disks can store up to 1.44 megabytes of information. However, they have largely been replaced by more advanced storage technologies. Compact Disk-Read Only Memory (CD-ROM) drives store information on flat, shiny disks. Most modern computers feature CD-RW drives, which allow users to write information to the disk in addition to reading from it. These drives can store up to 700 megabytes of data. The latest computers often come equipped with DVD drives, which can store significantly more information, up to 4.7 gigabytes. Another storage device is the Flash Drive, a relatively new technology that resembles a mini, portable hard drive. It can be plugged into the USB port on newer computers, enabling users to save data directly to the device. This convenience has made Flash Drives a popular choice for storing and transferring files. Computers operate through a series of processes, including input, processing, and output. Input devices, such as keyboards, mice, and scanners, allow users to enter information into the computer. The CPU processes this information, handling calculations and executing instructions. The output devices, including printers and computer monitors, display the processed information, making it accessible to the user.
